Bring your favorite projects or help us assemble our MQG Community quilt! Remember to accommodate the church members when parking!
Applique class at TRQ
Class fee: $30 for non-members
Kit: $25 - kit includes pattern and all fabrics for appliques an background,
Students need to supply paper-backed fusible; batting and backing material; plus good scissors, pencil for tracing, sewing machine and neutral thread. A light box is helpful, as is a small iron and pad.
Words on the vases are hand-written and can be whatever you wish (or none at all).

July Meeting
July's program will all about HSTs and HRTs! (That's Half-Square Triangles and Half-Rectangle Triangles.) We're going to cover the math involved in sewing a pair of HSTs and then how to sew multiples at a time. We're going to cover directional fabric and how to orient your marking lines to the intended outcome. We'll also cover proper trimming techniques. Then, we're jumping over to HRTs and how they differ from HSTs. HRTs are a bit more finicky, with longer bias edges and specific trimming techniques for successful points in your finished block.

Ready to try out the zig zag stitch on your sewing machine AND make some cute accessories for yourself or as gifts? Join us on April 18, 2026 from 10am-2pm and learn the basics of coiled rope sewing.

Quilt long enough and eventually you'll find yourself working on a charity quilt. Is going solo better than quilting in a group? How do you get ideas? What do you know about the recipient? Does it even matter??? Join us as we review some of our own guild charity quilts with the people who designed and directed them. We'll discuss the MQG's next community charity quilt and the best way for our guild to approach charity quilts.

QuiltCon 2025 - Raleigh, NC
QuiltCon is the largest modern quilting event in the world, hosted by the Modern Quilt Guild. With attendees coming from around the globe, QuiltCon features a vibrant quilt show full of competition quilts, community outreach quilts, and special exhibits as well as an enticing vendor hall, with all booths curated with the modern quilter in mind. QuiltCon also features lectures and workshops, available for registration with a four-day show pass.
