Project Overview
In this immersive workshop, participants will create an African-Inspired Symbol Table Runner (102"x19") featuring three traditional Ghanaian Adinkra symbols, each representing cultural and philosophical ideas. Participants will have the option to adapt or expand the design into a full quilt if desired. This workshop is open to quilters, sewists, and fiber enthusiasts of all experience levels—beginners welcome!
What Makes It Unique
Kena’s workshops are rooted in storytelling, heritage, and creative exploration. Using authentic African wax prints, she guides participants through symbolic design work.
Each person will receive a project kit including three exchangeable Adinkra symbols (selected from a set of nine)—inviting creative freedom while connecting to tradition.

Building An Improv Toolbox Part 2
In this fast-paced workshop, Sarah will teach a wide variety of improvisational piecing techniques. Discover how fun and easy it is to create these improv elements for use in your existing quilt projects, or as the start of a new project. Each prompt will be introduced and demonstrated; then time will be allowed for making one or more units with each technique. The workshop is packed full of tips and tricks and Sarah will discuss creating a composition with your finished blocks.

Kawandi with Vivian Benton
In this four-hour workshop, you’ll create a placemat-size Kawandi. We’ll follow the traditional method, hand stitching using scraps of fabric. To learn the technique, you’ll do this small project to get you started. With Vivian’s step-by-step guidance and lots of hands-on instruction, you’ll be able to complete your project in this workshop.
