  • The Pulse Quilt

    The Pulse quilt movement was a response to the call for quilts by the Orlando MQG after the Pulse nightclub shooting in June of 2016. Thousands of quilts made up of heart-shaped blocks were sent to Orlando and shared with victims, their families and the first responders of the shooting.

  • 35 Sisters

    Lovingly referred to as “The Bridge Quilt”

    Displayed at QuiltCon 2016 Pasadena

    Designed by Amanda. Pieced and assembled by PghMQG members, quilted by Nikki.

    Based on the Roberto Clemente bridge in downtown Pittsburgh, one of the “3 Sisters” bridges, it is pieced with an improv-with-intent technique and uses the palette and theme provided by the MQG.

    35 Sisters hung at the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival and also hung at the Three Rivers Quilt Show, winning Best In Show there. It was featured on a local Pittsburgh morning television show, as well.

    It was ultimately given to the Heinz History Center, a Smithsonian affiliate, to become part of the permanent collection.

  • Pittsburgh Project Quilt

    Donated 2015 to the Pittsburgh Project for their annual raffle. We met at the Pittsburgh Project for our monthly meetings at that time.

  • The Raffle Quilt

    I couldn’t find much on this quilt. We were raffling tickets for it in early 2015, and it was suggested that it was designed by Gina. If you have any information, we would love to add it here. Thank you!
